If Track Cycling is a niche, Track Sprinting is a niche within a niche. It’s more Chris Hoy than Chris Froome; more Matt Glaetzer than Mark Cavendish. The discipline focuses on short high speed events; these riders spend as much time in the gym as they do on the bike. It’s not all about speed and power though, if it was the same people would win each race. Tactics and technique are as important, as is the will to win.

Enhanced are pleased to help support these three up and coming young riders as they start their journey with the National Academies.

It all started in the Clubs

The riders all started with ‘Go-Ride’ Clubs across the country, this introduced them to a wide range of disciplines and they regularly raced each other at various events both on the road and track.

RSR’s & Apprenticeships

Once they reached Youth A Category (aged 14-16) They all joined the British Cycling Talent Development Program and attended Regional Development Centres and Regional Schools of Racing. These are the first steps on the Talent Development Pathway. From this pool of riders a few are selected to join the Apprentice programme; the first step on the GBCT Foundation Programme and their first chance to wear GB kit.
